Demi Lovato develops from 'darkest time' of her existence: Demi Lovato is speaking out to fans for the first time about her rehab program. "I know that you've seen me out and about and I wanted to let you know that I am back. I am home." She thanked fans for their tweets, fan mail and said "your support is what got me through this."
Lovato, a singer and star of Disney Channel's Sonny With A Chance, quit touring with the Jonas Brothers in October to seek "medical treatment for emotional and physical issues," her camp said at the time, later noting that Lovato had fought eating disorders, was bullied at school and had struggled with cutting. Substance abuse issues were denied. She completed a 90-day in-patient treatment program in Illinois at the end of January.
"The journey that I've been on has been very, very difficult over the past few months. I was dealing with issues I know not only girls just my age but all ages are dealing with," she says in the video message. "I can't tell you how much light you guys brought into my life in probably the darkest time of my life."She says in her video that she is "excited to get back to work
